I began this blog as somewhat of an experiment several years ago. I had heard of blogs but really didn't read many. I wanted a way for my family and friends to keep up with what I was doing. The plan was to compete in a 100 mile mountain bike race, but it never materialized and what resulted was a bit of an online diary and trail review page interlaced with a few gear reviews and race reports. It has evolved as my life has shifted from a mountain bike racing junkie to a trail running addict to somewhere in between now. I would love to do more in terms of adventure, but I'm invested in two little rugrats right now that take a lot of my time and energy, and a beautiful wife that deserves a good bit of attention as well.
So what is this blog about? Its a blog about keeping sight of your passions and priorities in the midst of a busy life. I'm a Christian, a husband, a father, a teacher, and an athlete. I try to keep things in that order, and when I don't, I find it hard to stay positive. You'll find that I focus on trails and things related to such, but I occaisionally inject a bit of my real life in as well.
Give me a second of free time and you'll likely find me off to the Boise Foothills or the Owyhees for a trail run or a mountain bike ride. Day or night, the trails are my place where I rejuvenate and find food for my faith. I truly feel it is a blessing to be able to get out and see the Creation in the way that I can, and it is quite addictive.
I'm also a bit of a gear junkie, so I often post reviews of some products I'm using or have purchased. I hope to do this more as I have time and exposure to new gear. If you have comments on this blog or questions about Southwest Idaho trails, send me a note and I'll get right back to you. Until then, Point me to the trails!
